Friday, 30 June 2006
Southern Regional Health System (SRHS) was recently recognized by the Atlanta Business Journal as one of Atlanta’s “Top 10 Hospitals for African Americans” in their Spring, 2006 issue. The recognition is based upon the results of a survey where Journal readers were polled on which Atlanta metro area hospitals were doing the best job at providing quality services and meeting the healthcare needs of African Americans. Southern Regional was recognized for establishing a reputation of excellence in service, commitment and dedication.

Recently Southern Regional was approved to begin providing coronary angioplasty procedures for patients having acute myocardial infraction (heart attack) or those with blocked arteries. In May, Southern Regional’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) was named as the “Best in the Southeast” by a major trade publication, Advance for Nurses.  Southern Regional provides the only Level III NICU facility in Atlanta’s south metro area.
