Time to Schedule Vaccinations Print E-mail
Friday, 30 June 2006
In a few weeks, you’ll start seeing the ads for clothes and school supplies. While you’re writing up your shopping list, don’t forget to plan a visit to the pediatrician; make sure all your child’s immunizations are up-to-date before school starts.

Your child’s healthcare provider will have a record of all the vaccinations your child has received as well as a schedule of required immunizations. Of course, you can also visit your local Health Department for vaccinations.

Since 1994, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) has been helping eligible children receive free vaccines from the doctors who serve them through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program. VFC allows patients up to and including age 18 get needed immunizations as part of their routine care with little to no out-of-pocket costs.

For more information about VFC, immunization schedules and other health issues, visit www.cdc.gov.
