The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) reports that tobacco users run a much higher risk of losing teeth. In fact, 14% of tobacco users older than 20 years have lost all their teeth; only 4.6% of non-smokers suffered the same tooth loss. The reason is that people who use tobacco in any form are at far greater risk of developing periodontal disease.
